Free to start · Works on web, iOS and Android · English & Dutch
Built for coaches and athletes
Sign up as a coach or as an athlete: each gets a home built around their side of the work. Athletes join a coach with a simple invite code.
For coaches
Run your whole roster from one dashboard.
- Build programs once, assign them to any athlete, and reuse them across cycles
- See every athlete's recent workouts, weight trend and check-ins in one overview
- Review check-ins in a dedicated queue and keep private coach notes per athlete
- Get an activity feed of completed workouts and send a 👍 with a note in one tap
- Arrange the athlete profile the way you work: reorder or hide any section
- Swap an athlete onto a new program without losing the history of the old one
- Invite athletes with your personal invite code, no manual account setup
For athletes
Open the app, see today's training, hit start.
- Your assigned program on the home screen: current cycle, next day, ready to go
- Log sets with last session's numbers in view, RPE and rest timer included
- Cardio and conditioning log duration and level instead of weight and reps
- Full workout history and progress charts to see the work adding up
- Add friends, follow their training and rank up the leaderboard on any lift
- Connect Apple Health or Health Connect and let weight and activity sync themselves
- Message your coach and send weight check-ins without leaving the app
Simple plans for every roster size
Athletes are always free. Coaches start free too, with up to 3 athletes and no card required — upgrade as your roster grows, cancel anytime.

Everything a coaching relationship runs on
No spreadsheets, no screenshots of programs in group chats. The whole loop of program, workout and feedback lives in one place.
Programs that repeat, cycle after cycle
Coaches build structured programs with days, exercises, target sets and reps, and assign them to athletes. GymCoach tracks which day of the current cycle is done and counts completed cycles automatically, so week 5 is as organised as week 1.
Log every set: weight, reps, RPE
During a workout, athletes see last session's numbers next to today's inputs, rate effort with RPE, and let the built-in rest timer pace the session. Every set is saved to a full workout history both athlete and coach can review.
Workouts name themselves
Start a Free Workout and GymCoach watches which muscle groups you're adding. A couple of leg exercises and it becomes "Leg Day"; mostly hamstring work and it gets specific: "Leg Day – Hamstring Focused". Rename it yourself anytime and it stops guessing.
Connect Apple Health or Health Connect
Link Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android and your weight, steps, active energy, resting heart rate and sleep flow into your progress screen automatically. Weigh yourself on a connected scale and the check-in is already there. Anything you type in yourself always wins over synced data.
287 exercises, ready to program
Barbell and dumbbell classics, cable work, Smith machine and plate-loaded variations, bodyweight movements and conditioning equipment, all organised by category and muscle group with instructions. Can't find yours? Coaches and athletes can add their own, and custom exercises stay visible only to you and the people you train with.
Talk it through, right in the app
Direct messaging keeps feedback next to the training it's about: discuss a heavy set, adjust the plan, confirm the next check-in.
Check-ins and progress, at a glance
Athletes log weight check-ins and workout notes; coaches get a review queue and per-athlete overview with recent workouts, weight trend, training goal and coach notes.
Questions, answered
Still wondering about something? Here's what people usually ask before getting started.
Is GymCoach free?
Athletes are always free. Coaches get a free plan too, for up to 3 athletes — no card required. Paid plans start at €19/mo (US$19/mo) once you outgrow that.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. Create an account and start building programs or logging workouts right away. You only add payment details if and when you upgrade to a paid coach plan.
How do athletes connect with a coach?
Every coach gets a personal invite code. Athletes enter it once during sign-up (or later from their profile) to link up — no manual account setup on the coach's side.
Can I use GymCoach without a coach?
Yes. Athletes without a linked coach still get full access to workout logging, progress tracking and a set of pre-built workout plans to train from.
What platforms does GymCoach run on?
Web, iOS and Android, all backed by the same account — start a workout on your phone and review it on the web without missing a beat.
What languages are supported?
English and Dutch today, with more on the way.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions auto-renew but can be cancelled anytime from your account settings — you'll keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Who can see my training data?
By default, only you and the coach you're actively linked with. If you turn on workout sharing, friends you've accepted can also see your completed workouts and your best sets on leaderboards — but nothing else. Your weight, check-ins, health data and your coach's notes stay private to you and your coach on every setting, and you can switch sharing back off at any time.
How do friends work?
Pick a username, then search for a friend by theirs and send a request. Once you both accept, their completed workouts appear in your feed and you can compare best sets on any lift. Friends are separate from coaching — adding someone as a friend gives them no access to your programs, check-ins or coach conversations.

Train with your friends, not just near them
Add the people you actually lift with. See what they trained, and find out where you stand on the lifts you both care about.
A feed of what your friends actually lifted
Find friends by username and send a request. Once you're connected, their completed workouts show up in your feed, and you can open any one of them to see the real sets, weights and reps behind it. Message them without leaving the app.
See where you stand, lift by lift
Pick any movement in the library and GymCoach ranks you and your friends by your best logged set. It updates itself as you train, because it reads the sets you're already logging. No extra entry, no separate app.
Sharing is off until you turn it on
Your workouts are private by default. Turning on sharing lets friends see your completed workouts and puts you on their leaderboards, and you can turn it back off whenever you want. Your weight, check-ins, health data and your coach's notes are never shared with friends, on any setting.
